During November, I always experiment a little break down. I feel less energized, a bit depressed by the weather and dream of spending my days in pjs near the fire. Since this isn’t really an option, I like to take some time in November to get ready for the good things ahead and to spend some time focusing on myself. I usually perfect my skincare routine for the colder months ahead (video on that coming later), make sure to hydrate my body from head to toe and play around with makeup. Here’s what you’ll find in this month’s beauty bag:
First off, I might have find a new favorite mascara. The green pride mascara from Une defines my lashes while giving them the perfect amount of volume. It holds the curl for a solid 8 hours and doesn’t smudge underneath my eyes. Next up is a new foundation that I’ve been using (you’ve already seen it in my latest video). This little guy is from Bourjois and its name “happy light” describes it perfectly. A decent amount of coverage, the perfect finish -not too matte, not too dewy- and a perfect color match is what sold me. Then, the latest addition to my makeup collection, the Nars at first sight palette, has me covered for bronzer, blush and eyes. Packed with my favorite bronzer (Laguna) and a gorgeous deep pink blusher (Deep throat), this palette also comes with 4 eyeshadows. I usually use the lighter one all over the lid, define my crease with the medium brown color and finish off by lining my upper and bottom lash lines with the shimmery brown color. I can already tell that it will find its way to my suitcase to London quicker than any other thing! To keep my hands feeling soft and moisturized, I rely on my trustworthy shea butter hand cream from l’Occitane. In fact, it might be the very first thing I’ve purchased from the brand and since then, I’ve been repurchasing it over and over again. It is a thick cream that takes a little bit of time to sink into the skin so I tend to reach for it during fall and winter. Finally, my nails are currently lacked with YSL rose gold polish. This metalic nail color doesn’t go all streaky on the nails and goes with just about anything. It looks more flattering on my nails than a straight on gold shade and fits into the “no noticeable chips” category. What is in your beauty bag this month? Do you have any recommendations?
